Live Musical Performances

We are happy to welcome the following individuals and groups to the garden center this holiday season! There is no charge to enjoy any of these wonderful performances (most take place by the Train Station).
Dec. 9 & 10, 2pm: Chilliwack Harmony Chorus Choir They are 'Barbershop' at its best! This popular community choir will be here to get you in the spirit of the season!
Dec. 12, 5-7pm: Jeff Bowman Jeff is a gifted local musician and music teacher and he's here to help us officially open the train!
Dec. 13, 5:30-7pm Chilliwack Senior Secondary Christmas Band
Cheer on these dedicated students as they play their hearts out for the season!
Dec. 15, 6-7pm Good News Choir
Hear yuletide carols being sung by an awesome local choir!
Dec. 16, 5-7pm The Maybelles Come and hear these wonderfully talented local ladies, known for their 60s style, as they sing the classics!
Dec. 17, 5:30-7pm Cascadia Wind Ensemble This incredible concert band returns to perform holiday favourites and more. They will blow you away!
Dec. 22 & 23, 5:30-7:30pm: Sweetwater Bill and Marie are back for the final two nights of the train ride. Guaranteed to get your toes tapping!

December 12-24, Times Below

All aboard! The train will be running again this year for the 12 days before Christmas! Tickets are $5 per person (tax included) and children aged three and under are free. Tickets can be purchased from our main cashier as you enter the store, then follow the 'train tracks' to the station! We're celebrating Canada in this year's display, so bring your holiday spirit eh!?
December 12-15 5pm-7:30pm

Please note, on busy evenings ticket sales will close early due to customer volume. The busiest evenings are always Dec. 22 and 23, where expected wait time is approximately one hour or more, so we strongly encourage visitors to come on an earlier evening if they can. Pets are not permitted on the train. For safety reasons, children aged 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Train rides are on a first come, first ride basis; there are no reservations. Thank you for your understanding!

Family Fun Days

December 16 & 17, 11am-8pm

We're pleased to offer a number of activities throughout the day for you to enjoy! Come and see...

Live Owls & Raptors, 11am-3pm, with a Guided Nature Walk at 1pm (details below)
Christmas Clue Search, 11am-8pm Ask for a search form from the main cashiers, look high and low for all the answers and receive a prize when you're done.
Story Time with Mrs. Claus, 2pm Bring the little ones in to hear holiday stories told by dear, sweet Mrs. Claus. Located in the Tropical House.
Visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus 5-7pm Say hello to the jolly couple as they circulate through the store. Be sure to bring your camera!

Live Owl Visits, Walks & Youth Classes

December 16, 17 & 23, 11am-3pm

The incredible creatures from Raptors Ridge Birds of Prey are back again this season! Come and see Barn, Barred, Pygmy and/or Great Horned Owls and hawks, kestrels and/or falcons too. This is a unique opportunity to see these exquisite animals up close and to learn more about them.
Guided Nature Walk, 1pm each day they're here! Looking for a more in-depth experience? Arrive at the owl station at 1pm each day and take part in a guided nature walk to the back field. There's no charge to attend, just be sure to dress for the weather!

Youth Owl Class (ages 8-15) Dec. 16, 17 & 23, 11am by Pre-Registration Only** SORRY, ALL SESSIONS ARE NOW FULL** This 1hr session focusses on the secret lives of owls and why they are truly amazing in flight, hearing and eyesight. Each student will receive their own owl pellet for dissection and have a chance to meet 'Radar', the Great Horned Owl! Please note, as of Dec. 5, all sessions are now full.

Mr. Grinch Makes Merry

Dec. 14, 5:30-7:30pm

Mr. Grinch returns to sneak, slink and be a little silly! Keep your eyes open for him as he visits the store tonight!

Festive Photo Op

During Store Hours until Dec. 24

Whether you're looking for a cool location for a seasonal selfie or a pretty location for a holiday family picture, come on down and take a seat at the photo op! There is no charge to use the area and it is accessible during store hours. Please note, camera and photographer are not included.

Chilliwack Hospice 'Celebrate a Life' Tree

Dec. 1-23, During Select Hours

The Chilliwack Hospice invites you to remember a loved one by writing their name on a delicate butterfly and placing it on their 'Celebrate a Life' Tree. Their volunteers will be here during select store hours, and the tree will be located by the poinsettia area in the Tropical House.

Elf Academy Kids' Crafts - FULLY BOOKED

Sunday December 3, 2pm & 3pm

We love making crafts as much as kids do! During the session we'll guide 'elves' through making 3 garden inspired holiday crafts involving air plants, pinecones and more. Cost is $10 per child. Suitable for ages 4 and up (with parental assistance for the little ones). Please call 604.792.6612 to register (limited space is still available for the 3pm session) you'll be joining us! Please note that space is limited and always fills quickly and pre-payment is requested to secure your place. Thank you!

Winter Greens Porch Pots Demo & Do

Sunday November 26, 2pm

Watch as Pauline demonstrates how to add some WOW factor to the entrance of your home! Learn the techniques of creating a lush porch pot and hanging greens basket and then, if you wish, stay and make your own to take home! There is no cost for the demo portion; charges apply for supplies used if you wish to make your own design. Please call 604.792.6612 to register as space is limited.

Pet Photos with Santa, Nov. 25 10am-4pm

As of Dec. 3, Pet Photos are now ready for pick up from our main cashier!

A popular tradition among pet owners! Photos are by donation (minimum $10 donation please, $20 for a tax receipt) with all funds raised benefitting the animals rescued and cared for by our Chilliwack SPCA. Pet food donations are respectfully declined, but if you would like to bring SPCA animals something special, new toys are appreciated.
Please ensure dogs are leashed (fixed length, not extension leashes) and please note, we will have a portion of the grassy area at the north end of the parking lot designated as a 'Pet Potty' that morning, which our four-legged friends are welcome to use upon arrival. Thank you!

Have Yourself an Airy Little Christmas

Sunday November 19, 2pm

Pauline will be demonstrating some traditional, and not so traditional, ways to incorporate air plants into your holiday decor this season. They make great gifts, so come on in for ideas, inspiration and learn how to make these cool creations yourself! Please call 604.792.6612 to register.

Saturday November 18, 10am-12pm, Tickets $20
with part proceeds to the
Chilliwack Children's Foundation

See some of this year's beautiful winter fashions, mingle with the models, discover how to make a winter tablescape using fresh greens and eucalyptus, learn how to look your best this season with tips from the team at The Gallery Spa, meet Rosalinde Blake and her line of luxury soy candles, hear live music by Brenda Jackson, sip on a holiday mocktail mimosa and nibble on brunch bites! As a bonus, ticket holders will receive 15% off* their purchases that morning and $10 in Bonus Bucks to use in January. Please note, this is a non-alcoholic event (so younger guests are welcome!). The Art of Sketching Trees

Local artist and art instructor Patrick Stedman will be sharing the finer points of sketching coniferous and deciduous trees successfully! Perfect timing for anyone wanting to personalize holiday cards or take up a new hobby for winter. Open to guests of all ages and artistic abilities. Paper and pencils will be provided. Registration is required as limited space is available.

24th Annual Gift, Craft & Antique Fair

Saturday November 4, 9am-5:30pm &
Sunday November 5, 10am-4pm

Get in the holiday spirit and get a jumpstart on your shopping at the same time! Shop from locally made products, handmade goods, collectibles, antiques, knitting, jewellery, baking, spices and so much more! There is no charge to attend and no charge for parking (though carpooling is strongly recommended). Live music will be provided by Jeff Bowman! Click here for more info.
